Basecamp Oulanka is a lovely complex of wooden buildings providing comfortable and cosy accommodation in a stunning location overlooking the Juuma lake and backing onto Oulanka National Park, situated in a remote, wonderful, unspoiled wilderness.

The next time I visit Oulanka National Park in the far north of Finland, I want to be two feet tall. That way the autumn mushrooms will come up to my knees, and I'll find myself walking in a waist-high forest of heather and lingonberries and crowberries and lichens. At that height, too, the wood-ant nests will tower over me. I will have to keep a sharp lookout for moose and reindeer, it's true.

Oulanka National Park has granted certificate to Basecamp Oulanka for the nature conservation work and sustainable nature tourism the company has done together with its customers in Kärpäskelhä since 2010 and in Myllykoski since 2014

TripAdvisor GreenLeaders have met a set of environmental standards developed for TripAdvisor by a leading environmental consulting firm, with input from expert partners. The more green practices a hotel has in place, the higher its GreenLeader level, which is shown on the property’s listing on the TripAdvisor site.
