Terms and Conditions


Seller

The provider of products and services sold in this online store is Basecamp Oulanka / Karhunkierros Luontokeskus Oy, (0871560-9), and these terms and conditions apply to the offering of products and services.

Terms of Service

Room access

Keys can be collected from the reception of Basecamp Oulanka during its opening hours, or when the reception is closed, as separately agreed. If payments relating to reservations are agreed to be paid upon arrival, the keys will be provided at the time of payment.

The room is available to the customer from 4 pm on the day of arrival until 12 noon on the day of departure.

Services included in the room rate

Accommodation fees at Basecamp Oulanka include breakfast, use of the sauna in the evening and a final cleaning after the reservation has ended.

Signs of untidiness beyond the scope of a normal stay will lead to a cleaning fee (minimum charge 1h).

Extra beds & pets

Extra beds are not included in the room rates. Twin rooms can fit 1–3 extra beds on the loft. The price for an extra bed is €35 / accommodation day and includes bed linen, towels and breakfast.
Extra beds must be booked and paid in advance no later than 7 days before the start of the reservation.

Pets should be mentioned at the time of booking. The pet fee is €25 / pet / stay. The pet fee is charged in connection with the accommodation fee.

The customer is personally responsible for the welfare of the pet, as well as for any damages and expenses caused by the pet to movable property or other customers. The pet must not cause any interference.

Customer Responsibility

All rooms are non-smoking.

The customer is obliged to fully compensate for any damage caused to the room or its movables during their stay, including additional cleaning and repair costs. If the customer or their guests cause disturbance or danger to occupants of the same property, the seller and their representative have the right to immediately terminate the accommodation agreement and the customer must immediately leave the accommodation. In the event of termination, payments will not be refunded for used or unused accommodation days.

Quiet hours should be maintained in all properties from 10pm to 8am.

The customer shall be liable for any damage caused intentionally or negligently to the seller or third parties.

The customer is responsible for damages caused intentionally or negligently by the customer to the seller or third parties.

Cancellation and Modification

Reservations with a right to cancel:
7 or more days prior to the reservation: the accommodation can be cancelled without charge. A fee of €20 is charged for the refund of the payment. 7 days or less prior the reservation: cancellation fees are 100% of the reservation value.

If the reservation is made less than 7 days before the start of the stay, it is a binding last-minute reservation and can only be cancelled without charge within 24 hours of booking. After that, cancellation fees will be 100% of the reservation value.

Cancellation or holiday interruption during the stay is not eligible for a refund.

If the cancellation occurs due to a serious illness or death of the booker or their next of kin before the start of the stay, the customer must ensure that their own travel and accident insurance covers the cost of the reservation. The reception at Basecamp Oulanka must immediately be notified of a cancellation. We will also comply with the booking conditions in these cases.

Non-refundable accommodation offers:
For confirmed offer bookings, cancellation fees are 100% from the moment of booking. A promotional rate will be mentioned in connection with the rate.

The seller's right to cancel the reservation

The seller may cancel a booking in the event of force majeure. In this case, the customer receives a full refund of the payment made out to the seller. Force majeure occurs when a host is unable to provide agreed services due to factors such as a strike, fire, water damage, natural disaster, martial law, etc. that impede the host's ability to function.

Force Majeure

Basecamp Oulanka / Karhunkierros Luontokeskus Oy shall not be liable for the cancellation of an order or reservation or other damage resulting from a force majeure event beyond Basecamp Oulanka / Karhunkierros Luontokeskus Oy's control, which the seller could not reasonably have foreseen at the time of the transaction and the consequences of which Basecamp Oulanka / Karhunkierros Luontokeskus Oy could not reasonably have avoided or overcome.

Notices and Complaints

All remarks and complaints related to the equipment and condition of the rooms must be addressed immediately upon emerging to the seller or their representative at the reception of Basecamp Oulanka. If a complaint or remark is requested in writing, this must be submitted before the end of the stay. If the customer has not contacted the seller or their representative about possible defects during the stay, they will lose their right to any refunds.

Insurances

We recommend that our customers sign a travel/accident insurance for possible exceptional situations and incidents. The seller is under no obligation to accept cancellation without cancellation fees.

Price changes

We reserve the right to change prices.

Clear errors

Clear errors (including typos) are not binding. All offers and promotions will be marked separately. If not marked as such, no rights can be invoked in the case of a clear error.

Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution

The parties shall endeavor to resolve disputes arising from the agreement primarily through negotiations. If no agreement is reached in negotiations, disputes shall be settled in the district court of the seller's domicile. This agreement is governed by Finnish law.

This online store has been implemented on the Joiku Booking online store platform. Joiku Booking (Comgate Oy, 2663001-9) does not provide, own, or control any services or products such as accommodations, activities, or transportation services that you access through this site.

The owner of this online store, Basecamp Oulanka / Karhunkierros Luontokeskus Oy, owns, controls, or offers services or products directly or as an agent. The seller is responsible for the service or product sold. The seller's terms apply to your booking, so you must accept and understand these terms. Joiku Booking is not responsible for any issues related to booking, use, implementation, or delivery of the service or product.

Ordering

Products are primarily ordered through the internet via the online store's shopping cart.

All orders will be confirmed via email, indicating the order price and ordered items. To receive the order confirmation, provide your email address during the order process.

By placing each order, you agree to the current seller's terms of service.

Payment Methods

The following payment methods are available in the online store: Nordea, Osuuspankki, Danske Bank, Alandsbanken, Handelsbanken, S-Pankki, Aktia, Säästöpankki, POP Pankki, Oma Säästöpankki, Visa, MasterCard, American Express. Payment is processed through the Paytrail Oyj website.

Payment Service Provider

Paytrail Oyj (2122839-7) acts as the payment intermediary and provider in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. Paytrail Oyj will appear as the payee on your account statement or credit card bill and will transmit the payment to the merchant. Paytrail Oyj holds a payment institution license.

Order and Payment Confirmation

You will receive an order confirmation by email, including:

  • Total invoice amount
  • Tax breakdown
You will receive a payment confirmation from Paytrail Oyj, including the payment amount, payment reference, and date. In case you have any questions regarding the payment transaction, please primarily contact the seller. You can also contact Paytrail (020 718 1830 / [email protected]).

Should there be any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Finnish versions of the Terms and Conditions, the Finnish version shall prevail.
