Rafting: Wild & Scenic Combo

Rafting through ”Wild Route” and “The most beautiful landscapes of the Oulanka National Park” combining the wildest rapids and most stunning landscapes of the national park all in the same day. Rated for 18+. Duration 5.5 h. Rapid classes I-IV.

This route is ideal for thrill seekers and those who have experienced rafting, but of course you can still participate this route, even if you have not previously rafted. The route takes us from the beach at Basecamp Oulanka to the eastern border zone.

During the route we will navigate through the three largest rapids of the Kitkajoki river (Graded II-IV) while enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the Kitka canyon. The highlights are the Myllykoski and Aallokkokoski rapids, where we are guaranteed to get wet, the adrenaline will flow and teamwork is necessary!

After Aallokkokoski, we explore the Jyrävä waterfall by foot and then continue our journey by raft from below the waterfall. The next 7 kilometers we paddle along the rugged canyon of the Kitkajoki river. The almost continuous Class I - II rapids give us a sense of adventure while admiring the ancient lime stone cliffs. The diverse nature of the Kitkajoki river is truly impressive.

After the rapids, the journey drifts into calmer waters and in complete silence, surrounded by an old forest and meadows, towards the border zone. Here we have time to enjoy our picnic snacks as the raft flows with the current. The return transfer to Basecamp takes approximately 45 minutes.

NOTE! The excursion requires at least 3-4 participants. If the departure does not take place due to an insufficient number of participants, we will refund the payment in full or move your reservation to another time free of charge.

The rafting package includes high-quality equipment: helmet, floating vest, paddling suit, rubber boots, services of an authorized guide, light snacks, liability insurance, nature conservation fee, VAT.

Private and group rates:

If you wish for your group to depart outside of our scheduled departure times, the price for one raft is 700 €, and for two or more rafts 600 € per raft. In addition to our guide, the raft can accommodate a maximum of 6 people. Bookings by e-mail or by phone.
