Basecamp Oulanka is located in the southernmost part of Oulanka National Park, along Finland’s most popular hiking trail, the Karhunkierros (Bear’s Trail). The Pieni Karhunkierros (Little Bear Trail) runs right next to us.
Surrounded by pristine wilderness, dramatic canyons and the rapids of the Kitka River, Basecamp offers authentic nature experiences all year round. Explore the wild Finnish nature, relax in peaceful surroundings and enjoy a wide range of activities.
Basecamp has been designed, built and maintained according to sustainable principles since 1998. By choosing our services, you support nature conservation and our long-term sustainability work.
Wilderness Hotel
Our two log-built hotel buildings offer a total of 18 rooms. The smaller ground-floor rooms have direct access to nature. The larger upstairs rooms include a balcony and a spacious loft with extra beds.
Stay in the peace of nature, surrounded by forest and free from light pollution and traffic noise. There is no TV, radio or minibar – instead, enjoy the cozy hall or the lakeside fireplace lounge.
