Sauna at Basecamp Oulanka

The sauna is heated every day at Basecamp Oulanka. Our hotel guests can enjoy a sauna free of charge. Our public hikers’ sauna is open to all non staying visitors too and is an ideal way to relax after hiking the Pieni Karhunkierros Trail or joining a rafting trip.

Hikers’ sauna

During the summer, our hikers’ sauna is located in our beautiful traditional lakeside sauna. Between sauna sessions, you can cool down in the clean water of Lake Juumajärvi directly from our private sandy beach.

Lakeside sauna at Basecamp Oulanka

Lakeside sauna and fireplace room

Our traditional wood-heated lakeside sauna offers gentle heat and an authentic Finnish sauna atmosphere. The building includes a sauna room, washing room, changing room and cosy fireplace room.

Washing water is pumped from the lake and heated in a traditional water cauldron. The sauna seats approximately 15 people. A wooden walkway leads directly to our private sandy beach, where you can swim in the clean water of Lake Juumajärvi.

Main building sauna and hot tub

The sauna in our main building has an electric sauna heater and seats approximately 8–10 people. The facilities include a shower room, changing room and toilet.

The outdoor hot tub on the terrace is a comfortable place to relax between sauna sessions and afterwards. Sauna drinks are available from the upstairs bar.

Please note: The main building sauna and hot tub are closed during summer 2026.

Are you looking for a place to relax with your own group? Are you organising a celebration, or would you simply like to enjoy the sauna in privacy? Basecamp Oulanka’s saunas are also available for private hire.

We can arrange refreshments and snacks at the sauna or serve a complete dinner in our restaurant. Contact us for more information about the available options.
