Rafting: Family Route (3h)
Family-friendly rafting adventure on the Kitkajoki River – safe, exciting and close to nature.
This nature-friendly rafting trip combines fun rapids with peaceful river sections, making it ideal for beginners and families with children (minimum age 5 years). The 14 km route includes seven rapids and two lake areas, offering a balanced and memorable experience in the heart of northern nature.
Along the way, you will experience Class I–III rapids, enjoy the calm backwaters, and take in the pristine surroundings of the Kitkajoki River.

What happens during the trip?
The experience begins at Basecamp with equipment fitting, followed by a transfer to Käylä, the starting point of the rafting route. Before entering the river, we practice paddling in easy Class I rapids.
As the trip progresses, you will navigate exciting Class II rapids such as Peurakoski and Saarikoski, and finally the Class III Harjakoski, which adds a thrilling highlight to the journey.
Between the rapids, we paddle calmly through tranquil sections, allowing time to enjoy the surrounding wilderness. The lake sections at the beginning and end are covered using an eco-friendly motor. The trip ends at Basecamp’s sandy beach.
This trip is designed with families in mind: even younger children can actively participate by paddling on calmer sections.
Included in the price
High-quality equipment (helmet, life vest, paddling suit, rubber boots), transfer to the starting point, services of an authorized rafting guide, liability insurance, nature conservation fee, and VAT.

Private departures & extras
Private departures outside scheduled times are available at €400 per raft. Each raft accommodates up to 7 paddlers plus 2 children, in addition to the guide.
Capture your experience: GoPro camera rental €20 per group. Includes helmet-mounted camera footage of the trip. Bring your own microSD card or purchase one from us.
