Rafting: Wild Route (2h)

Raft the three wildest rapids on the Kitkajoki River – an adrenaline-filled adventure for adults.

The Wild Route is made for daredevils and experienced white water rafters, although previous rafting experience is not required. This short but intense route takes you through the biggest safely runnable rapids on the Kitkajoki River.

Expect teamwork, splashes and a real sense of adventure. On this route, adrenaline is pumping and staying dry is unlikely.

What happens during the trip?

The Wild Route starts directly from Basecamp’s own shore. The route includes the three biggest safely runnable rapids on the Kitkajoki River: Niskakoski, Myllykoski and Aallokkokoski, plus the approximately 1 km long Jyrävä Lake section.

We run this route the Basecamp way: no fossil energy, everyone paddles, and we use small playful rafts to get the best out of the rapids.

After the rapids, we walk approximately 15 minutes along the Pieni Karhunkierros nature trail back to Basecamp.

Included in the price

High-quality equipment (helmet, life vest, paddling suit, rubber boots), services of an authorized rafting guide, liability insurance, nature conservation fee, and VAT.

Private departures & extras

Private departures outside scheduled times are available. The price for one raft is €400, and for two or more rafts €300 per raft. In addition to the guide, each raft accommodates up to 6 paddlers.

Capture your experience: GoPro camera rental €20 per group. Includes helmet-mounted GoPro footage of the rapids. Bring your own microSD card.
