This Wild & Scenic Combo combines Basecamp’s most adrenaline-filled rafting route with the peaceful beauty of Oulanka National Park. You will raft the biggest safely runnable rapids of the Kitkajoki River and continue through the breathtaking landscapes of Kitka Canyon.
The route is ideal for thrill seekers and adventurous adults who want both wild white water and scenic wilderness in the same experience. Minimum age is 18 years.

What happens during the trip?
The trip starts from Basecamp Oulanka’s own beach and takes you all the way to the eastern border zone. First, we navigate the three biggest safely runnable rapids of the Kitkajoki River, graded from Class II to IV.
The main highlights are Myllykoski and Aallokkokoski, where getting wet is practically guaranteed and teamwork is essential.
After Aallokkokoski, we pass the Jyrävä waterfall on foot and continue by raft from below the waterfall. The next 7 kilometres follow the rugged Kitka Canyon, with almost continuous Class I–II rapids and impressive ancient limestone cliffs.
After the rapids, the river becomes calmer and the journey continues in silence, surrounded by old forest and meadows, towards the border zone. Light snacks are enjoyed as the raft flows with the current. The return transfer to Basecamp takes approximately 45 minutes.

Private departures
Private departures outside scheduled times are available. The price for one raft is €700, and for two or more rafts €600 per raft. Each raft accommodates up to 6 paddlers in addition to the guide.
